Sunlight Christian Academy offers a variety of afterschool programs for our K8 students. Programs run for 12-weeks and two sessions (fall/spring) are offered annually.
Art Foundations - students explore the foundations of drawing and painting, instructed by a talented artist. Group size - 12.
Basketball - students learn the game of basketball and demonstrate their skills for staff, students and families by playing in an actual game at the end of the session. Group size - 16.
Cheerleading - students focus on cheerleading skills, learn a half-time dance, and demonstrate their skills for staff, students and families during an actual SCA basketball or volleyball game. Group size - 12.
Cooking with Nana - students learn how to measure and mix ingredients to create their favorite recipes, followed by the ultimate taste test! Group size - 10 to 12.
Debate & Speech - students learn how to participate in the rational exchange of ideas and arguments and they relate to significant social issues. Group size - 10.
Etiquette - students practice manners and socials skills and learn how to use their own good judgment based on the solid knowledge of what is respectful of others and dignified of themselves. Group size - 10.
Imagination Playground - students participate in a time of free play using large blue STEM blocks to build and create their own play spaces while socially interacting with their peers. Group size - 12.
Lego STEM - students engaged in reading, science and mathematical activities to collaborate on engineering a robotics product from Legos and a motor, with opportunities to participate in local competitions. Group size - 10.
Lyrical/Hip Hop - students will learn up to two dance routines and perform in SCA's musical theater production and the St. Lucie Dance Theatre recital. Group size - 12.
Minecraft Ministry - students participate in Minecraft missions designed by a Pastor to align with exciting stories from the Bible. Group size 16-20.
Performing Arts - students participate in singing, acting and dancing lessons and demonstrate their skills in a musical theater production. Group size - 12.
Volleyball - students learn the game of volleyball and demonstrate their skills for staff, students and families by playing in an actual game at the end of the session. Group size - 16.
